The Best Solar FlagPole Lights

1. Deneve Solar Flagpole Light

First on the review is the Deneve solar flagpole light. This is by far the most popular flag light on the review and is so because of its quality design. Its powerful lights illuminate flags easily while still keeping efficiency.

This particular light has 26 powerful LEDs that produce a total of 1300 lumens. These bright LEDs shine down onto a flag illuminating it completely. In addition the LEDs produce a very bright white color that looks great on any flag.

To power these LEDs are multiple internal batteries that total 4500mAh. This battery capacity is very big and is larger than most other flagpole lights on the market. When fully charged these they allow the light to shine up to 18 hours. This means that light will shine through out the night with out dying.

There are 6 separate solar cells on top of the light to charge the internal battery. These high-efficiency panels work all day to store energy for the light. If installed correctly they will power the Deneve solar light 24/7 without any issues.

In regards to compatibility this light can be used with most 15-25ft flag poles with a 1/2 inch thick rod at the top. While the light doesn’t come with an ornament, it requires one. These ornaments need to have a shaft length of 1.75 inches and 1/2 inch width. When purchased all you need to is lower the pole and screw on the light with the ornament. This process isn’t too difficult and shouldn’t take a lot of time.

Overall the Deneve solar flagpole light is a great option when choosing to illuminate your flag. Its one of the most popular lights on the market and will truly serve you well. Its large battery life and many solar cells ensure your flag has light all night long. So check this light out and see if it’s the right product for you.

Pros
  • Uses 26 powerful LEDs.
  • Has 6 high efficient solar cells.
  • Up to 18 hours of lighting.
Cons
  • Doesn’t include an ornament.

2. Sunnytech Solar Flagpole Light

Second on the list is the Sunnytech solar flagpole light. This is another popular product that is known for its good cosmetic looks. Unfortunately it only has 20 LEDs so it landed in second place.

This particular light has 20 LEDs which is less than other options on the list. For this reason the light is slightly lower in brightness than other options.

Within the Sunnytech are powerful internal batteries that total a capacity of 4500mAh. This is one of the largest battery capacities on the list and allows the device run for a 18 hours (when in direct sunlight all day).

To power the internal batteries are 6 solar panels. They easily convert enough energy to sufficiently charge the batteries. To make the product look better Sunnytech placed black plastic around the panels. This gives the light a great design and cosmetic look.

This product has the same compatibility of the above device. It can be used with most 15-25ft flag poles with a 1/2 inch thick rod at the top. An ornament does not come with this device, but is recommended. It also needs to have a shaft length of 1.75 inches and 1/2 inch width to fit with the night.

Once installed correctly the Sunnytech works perfect. The light runs for a long time and rarely fails. The only negative thing is that the device produces a softer light then other options. It’s also slightly more expensive than the above device which has more LEDs. With that being said its a quality device and should be something to look into.

Pros
  • Has a high battery capacity.
  • Great cosmetic design.
Cons
  • Only uses 20 LEDs.
  • Doesn’t include ornament.

Technical Details:
Product Dimensions: 9.4 x 9.3 x 2 Inches
Weight: 1.2 Pounds
LEDs: 20 LEDs
Battery Capacity: 4500mAh

3. TOTOBAY Solar Flagpole Light

Third on the list is the TOTOBAY solar flagpole light. This option landed a spot on the review due to its raw power. It’s super bright and charges very quickly during the day.

The TOTOBAY light has an impressive total of 30 LED lights. This is highest amount of LEDs on the review and allows the device to produce a large amount of bright light.

To power the lights is a 2200mAh internal battery. While this isn’t the largest capacity on the review, it still allows the device to run for a total of 10 hours. Which is a lot of time considering how many LEDs there are.

The TOTOBAY also uses 11 separate solar panels to produce a large amount of energy. This again is the most out of any other devices on the list. Together they allow the device to convert a lot of energy during the day so that there is a full charge at night.

The TOTOBAY is compatible with most 15-25 ft flag poles with a half-inch 1/2 inch rod at top. The minimum length of the ornament shaft is 1.75 inches. Which is once again the standard for solar flagpole lights.

Overall the TOTOBAY solar flagpole light is a great option. It truly has a lot of power and the most solar panels/LEDs out of any device on the list. The only negative aspect is that its internal battery is relatively small and doesn’t last as long as other options. With those things in mind we recommend checking this device out as it might be the best option for you.

Pros
  • Has the most solar panels/LEDs.
  • Produces power bright light.
  • Fast solar charging times.
Cons
  • Smaller internal battery.

Technical Details:
Product Dimensions: 9.4 x 9.4 x 2.1 Inches
Weight: 13.6 Ounces
LEDs: 30 LEDs
Battery Capacity: 2200mAh

4. Amir Solar Spotlight

Next on the review is the Amir solar spotlight. This particular light is meant to be placed in the grown or installed on a wall. Thus is meant for shorter flags. With that being said its a great option that is very inexpensive.

The Amir uses 4 powerful LEDs that produce a total of 200 lumens. While this is less power then the above options, it’s still great for short flags. The light head is also 90 degree adjustable so you get the best angle possible.

To power the LEDs is a powerful 2200mAh internal battery. This battery allows the Amir to last 8 hours while in bright mode and 14 while in low light mode. While these power times aren’t the best, they are still enough to light the flag majority of the night.

On top of the Amir light is a small 1.5W solar panel. This panel is 90 degree adjustable and allows you to point it at the best angle for direct sunlight. The one criticism we have is on how small the panel is. We think it should be larger so that you can build a larger battery.

The Amir spotlight is also super durable and is IP65 Waterproof. To add onto this the light is multi functional. So you can use it to light other objects other than a flag. Overall this is a great option if you need to light a short flag. Just don’t expect it to work well on tall flag poles.

Pros
  • Multifunctional light.
  • Very durable and IP65 waterproof.
  • Ideal for short flagpoles.
Cons
  • Uses small solar panel.

Technical Details:
Product Dimensions: 3.7 x 5.9 x 7.3 Inches
Weight: 12.8 Ounces
LEDs: 4 LEDs
Battery Capacity: 2200mAh

5. Nature Power Solar Flagpole Light

Last on the review is the Nature Power solar flagpole light. This is another unique option when looking for flag lights. The light get installed onto the pole itself. This gives the flag a different lighting as it shines up onto the flag rather than down.

Like the above device the Nature Power uses 4 separate LEDs that provide 56 lumens. The light head is adjustable and allows you to get the best angle possible. With that being said the light produced is a lot softer than other options on the review.

Within the Nature Power is 1600mAh internal battery. This capacity is very small compared to other lights on the market. For this reason the light it produces isn’t as bright as other option. With that being said it can still last a total of 10 hours when fully charged.

To power the internal battery is a small 1W solar panel. This is the smallest panel on the review and thus takes longer to charge the internal battery. Luckily the panel is placed at the best angle so you can get the most out of the sunlight.

Overall when looking at the Nature Power solar flagpole light we have to say it’s probably not worth the money. While the unique installation is cool, it simply is very expensive and doesn’t work that great. The light produced isn’t great and the internal battery is the smallest on the list. So its recommended to skip this product and go for one of the options above.

Pros
  • Unique lighting option.
  • Adjustable light head.
Cons
  • Very expensive for the value.
  • Small internal battery.

Product Dimensions: 4 x 3.5 x 8 Inches
Weight: 2 Pounds

Solar FlagPole Light Benefits

As we mentioned above it is recommended by US Flag Code to have your flag be lit when flying at night. This recommendation is one of the many reasons why you should look into buying a solar flagpole light.  In addition to this there are many benefits to solar flagpole lights. Some of which we list down below.

The most obvious benefit of solar flagpole lights is that they are good for the environment. Solar energy is renewable resource that is both clean and never-ending. Even though these devices only require a small amount of energy, the energy is clean and doesn’t hurt the environment.

One great benefit of solar flagpole lights is their convenience. The convenience to have power no matter what happens. You simply install the light once and you will have light for your flag for years. It doesn’t matter if the power goes out or not. If the device gets sunlight then it will work at night.

Another benefit of solar flagpole lights is that they simply look good. There is nothing more better looking than a building that has a flag that is illuminated. It shoes your patriotism and how much you truly care about where you live. No matter where you’re from you can be patriotic.

  • Caroline says:

The reviewed products are quite reliable but I am wondering that how are their mounting style so that they light the flag best.
    Thank you!

    • Solar Lover says:

In our experience the lights that are installed on top of the flagpole illuminate the best. These lights typically use more LEDs and produce more lumens.

In addition all sides of the flag gets illuminated equally when using this type of light. Lights that are installed lower on the pole or on the ground don’t light equally and have one hot spot of light.

So if you’re looking into buying a solar flagpole light then we recommend the first device. It’s the brightest and most powerful option to choose from.
