The Best Best Solar Briefcases

1. Renogy Solar Briefcase

First on the review is the Renogy solar briefcase. This is possibly the best solar briefcase on the market due to its quality materials and large amount of power. Not to mention Renogy is one of the leading companies in the solar industry.

This particular unit has a powerful output of 100W. While this isn’t the most powerful solar briefcase on the market, it still supplies a sufficient amount of energy for most solar needs.

Another great thing about this product is that the panels are mono-crystalline panels. Meaning they are super efficient and thus take up less space. Making it smaller and lighter compared to other solar briefcases on the market. This portability is extended even more with its foldable capabilities.

On the back on the Renogy solar briefcase is a sturdy aluminum stand. This allows you to place the briefcase at the most optimal angle possible. There is also a built-in charge controller on the back of the device. With the included alligator clips you can charge your 12V battery right out of the box.

Overall the Renogy solar briefcase is one of the best solar devices too choose from. Its created with quality materials and generates a ton of energy. Its one of the best tools for someone who wants a portable charging kit for their RV, boat, or any 12V battery. So we most definitely recommend this product and advice you to check it out.

Pros
  • Built with durable and quality materials.
  • Generates 100W of pure power.
  • Is super portable and can easily be stored away.
Cons
  • None.

2. Renogy Firefly Solar Briefcase

Second on the review is the Renogy Firefly solar briefcase. Yes, this is another Renogy product, but its an awesome product and allows you to charge multiple devices directly from the unit.

When opened the Renogy Firefly displays two smaller solar panels that have an output of 10W each. Together they combine 20W and charge the internal battery in a relatively small amount of time.

Unlike almost all of the other products on this review, this one has a super large 175Wh battery. Allowing you to charge laptops, tablets, phones, and pretty much anything that has a charging cord.

One of the most convenient features of this solar briefcase is its multiple outputs. There is 1 AC inverter, 1 12V port, 2 USB ports, and ports for other external solar panels. Giving you many options to choose from when charging your devices.

On the side of the solar generator is a LED flashlight. Allowing you to see when in dark areas. The generator also features an LED display, a handle, and a durable outer casing. The durable casing does a great job at protecting all the internal parts. There is also built-in latches to keep everything locked and safe.

Overall we found the Renogy Firefly to be a great value. It’s perfect for those who need a compact solar briefcase that is super durable. So if you go camping a lot then this a must buy!

Pros
  • Super compact and portable.
  • Simple design gives you everything you need in one suitcase.
  • Extreme durability ensures a lifetime of reliability.
Cons
  • None.

Weight: 12 Pounds
Power: 20W

3. ECO-WORTHY Solar Briefcase

Third on the review is the ECO-WORTHY solar briefcase. This particular unit is the most powerful on the review. For this reason it landed a top stop on the review.

It should be noted that ECO-WORTHY is a popular company in the solar field. This is because of their wide variety of solar products that are both functional and reliable. This solar briefcase doesn’t fall short and is one of their best products.

As we mentioned above this is the most powerful solar briefcase on the review. It has two different panels that output a total of 120W. This is a lot of power and should be sufficient for most 12V charging needs.

One negative thing about this solar briefcase is that it uses polycrystalline panels. This is an older and inferior type of panel. This means its less efficient than most of the other solar panels on the review. This product combats this efficiency by making large panels. So if you compare this to the Renogy briefcase then you will see it is extremely large, even though they have similar outputs.

On the back of the ECO-WORTHY solar briefcase is pre-installed controller. This is a 15V charge controller and is completely wired and set up for 12V battery charging. On the back there are also two pairs of legs. These allow you to point the panels at the best angle for solar charging.

On the side of the briefcase is two latches to close the briefcase and a carrying handle. This handle is very convenient as the briefcase is pretty heavy. The durable handle allows you to carry or store the unit with little effort. The package also includes a pair of charging cables to plug into a 12V battery.

Overall the ECO-WORTHY solar briefcase is a premium solar device. Its built out of quality and durable materials. It’s also super convenient with its included legs and handle. The only negative aspect of the briefcase is its polycrystalline panel and very large size. With that being said if you need the most power possible then this is the device of you.

Pros
  • Most powerful device on the review.
  • Built with quality and durable materials.
Cons
  • Uses less efficient solar panels.
  • Very large compared to other options.

Product Dimensions: 34.6 x 23.6 x 5.1 Inches
Weight: 23 Pounds
Power: 120W

4. Voltaic Systems Solar Briefcase

Fourth on the review is the Voltaic Systems solar briefcase. This is one of the few briefcases on the market that includes a battery. For this reason and its ease of use it landed a spot on the review.

On the front of the Voltaic Systems is a smaller 18W solar panel. While this panel is much smaller than most devices on the review, it is at least built with a mono-crystalline panel. This is the most efficient type panel on the market and allows the panel to produce a lot of energy for its small size.

On the inside of the briefcase is a 20,000 mAh battery. This is a relatively large battery and is enough to charge a laptop a few times. On the battery itself is a USB port (5V/2A) and selectable DC output (12V/4A, 16V/3.5A, 19V/3A).

Since the Voltaic Systems produces a lower output there is no 12V charging capabilities. Meaning you can’t use it to charge a car or RV battery. Instead this solar briefcase is meant for smaller batteries. You can charge most laptops, tablets, and mobile phones with this device.

One cool thing about this briefcase is that it’s actually meant to carry things. You can fit papers, laptops, and phones into this briefcase. While this feature might not seem very important, it’s actually very practical and makes this device a tool that someone might actually use on a regular basis.

Overall the Voltaic Systems solar briefcase on the market. While we don’t recommend it if you need a large solar system, we do think its perfect for small and regular solar charging. The briefcase looks great and is a perfect gift for anyone who goes to school or work a lot.

Pros
  • Small and compact design.
  • Very practical briefcase that you can use daily basis.
Cons
  • Doesn’t use durable materials.

Weight: 4.5 Pounds
Power: 18W

5. Nature Power Solar Briefcase

Last on the review is the Nature Power solar briefcase. This is a medium-sized briefcase that creates an output of 40W. While this isn’t a lot of energy, it’s still sufficient enough for some peoples solar energy needs.

As we mentioned above the Nature Power has a total output of 40W. There are two separate panels that have an output of 20W each. They are both made out of mono-crystalline panels which mean they are supper efficient and supply a lot of power.

On the back of the briefcase is legs so that you can prop the briefcase at the perfect angle. This allows you to get the best charge possible as you charge a battery with the solar briefcase.

There are only two things that we didn’t like about this product. First you must buy a separate charge controller before even using the device. They don’t include this controller with the package which is annoying because most solar products do. The second thing we didn’t like is the hinges of the legs. They seem super cheap and will likely not last very long.

Other than those two aspects we did enjoy this charger. We can see how it can be useful for people who need medium-sized power for their boats, RVs, job sites, and etc. With that being said if you’re looking for a lot of power to sustain outdoor living then this isn’t the product for you.

Pros
  • Sleek and good-looking product.
  • Very portable and can be easily stored away.
Cons
  • No included charge controller.
  • Some cheap parts.

Best Solar Briefcase Benefits

Solar briefcases are one of the most powerful portable solar devices that you can purchase today. Not only do they pack a punch, but they also have a lot of other benefits as well. Some of which might be the deciding factor to whether or not you purchase one.

One of the most obvious benefits of a solar briefcase is the eco-friendly power that they generate. Solar panels simply converts energy from the sun into useable energy that your laptops, phones, and speakers can use. This avenue of generating energy is completely clean as there is no harmful wastes that come from it.

Another benefit to solar is that the energy is completely free. This is a top benefit as it saves you money and makes any solar device a wonderful investment. Not to mention solar panels last years. Giving you a tool that creates a large amount of free energy for years.

Solar briefcases are also super convenient. They allow you to charge your electronic devices literally anywhere that has sun light. Allowing you to travel far from civilization and still have energy to rely on. No need for gasoline generators as  the sun is an abundant resource.

Overall solar briefcases have a lot of benefits. They are a wonderful tool if you need a lot of energy, but also want portability at the same time. They are more powerful than most solar chargers, but are more portable than most solar generators. We think they are the perfect middle ground and recommend you to look more into them.
