The Goal Zero Yeti 3000 has recently become available on the market and is completely destroying the competition. This power station is currently the largest solar battery on the market with a whopping battery capacity of 3075Wh. It’s so powerful that it beat out its predecessor, the Yeti 1400.
Since the Yeti 3000 has created so much buzz we had to write a quick article on the product. Down below we discuss its design, features, and whether or not your should purchase the product yourself.
As we mentioned above the Yeti 3000 is now the largest solar battery on the market. This generator is so powerful that its has more than double the capacity of the Yeti 1400. It can store up to 3075Wh if energy and can power a fridge for more than 50 hours.
This impressive capacity makes the Yeti 3000 an ideal generator for emergencies, living off-the-grid, or any the job site. You can charge many different device into the Yeti without having to worry about running out of energy.
Since the Yeti 3000 is so powerful it’s also very large. The batteries dimensions are 10.1 x 15.3 x 13.1 inches and it weighs a whopping 68 pounds. While this isn’t as heavy as other batteries Goal Zero has released, it’s still very large and not the easiest to carry. For this reason the Yeti comes with a roll cart to help with transporting this power house.
The Yeti 3000 has the same cosmetic design and features as the other Yeti products. On front of the device lays a small LCD screen which gives you a lot of technical information. The screen indicates how much power is being used, how much power is being generated, the estimated time of battery life, and the estimated time till charging is complete.
There are also many charging ports on the front of the device. There are a total of 4 USB ports, 2 AC outputs, and multiple 12V outlets. Allowing you to charge a number of devices at the same time.
The only negative things about this design is that there are the same number of ports as the smaller Goal Zero batteries. Since the Yeti 3000 has more power it only makes sense to add more ports so that you can charge more devices. Goal Zero did not do this and it’s a little disappointing.
To power the Yeti itself are two charging options. You can use solar energy (6 hours using max input) or AC energy (25 hours using 2 AC plugs). Together these two avenues allow you to keep the Yeti 3000 charged no matter where you may be.
Since most people who buy the Yeti use it outdoors we recommend purchasing a solar panel with the device. Goal Zero has multiple solar panels to choose from. Out of all of them the Boulder 200W solar panel seems to be the best. With this panel you can fully charge the Yeti 3000 in around 1-2 days of direct sunlight.
The Boulder 200 uses high quality mono-crystalline cells to generate the most energy possible. The panels have a high energy conversion rate and can charge most devices in a short amount of time. In addition the Boulder solar panels are foldable. Allowing you to easily transport them or store them away.
Overall The Goal Zero Yeti 3000 is a great product with a ton of benefits. It’s the most powerful solar generator on the market and can power anything that you throw at it. For this reason its ideal for those living off-the-grid or who work on a job site.
Goal Zero has been known to create premium products at a premium price. The Yeti 3000 doesn’t fall short from this and is the most expensive solar generator on the market. In fact, its 4-5 times more expensive than other products on the market.
With that being said if you’re looking for a premium product that is going to last you years then this is the product for you. The unit itself is very durable and can handle most normal wear and tear. In addition it comes with a 1 year warranty just in case something goes wrong.
In the end we recommend checking out the Yeti 3000 or the other Yeti devices. They are truly amazing devices that are perfect for those who need portable power.
